About the Shire

If you like variety in a holiday, then Narrabri Shire, Heart of the North West, is sure to have what you're looking for!!

Our Shire covers 13,000 km in the heart of the rich Namoi Valley in North West NSW. It is renowned for the production of some of the world's highest quality wheat, cotton, fat lambs and beef.

There are many tourist attractions including the Australian Cotton Centre, Mt Kaputar National Park, Pilliga State Forest, Australia Telescope, Sawn Rocks and the recently built Crossing Theatre (Cultural Centre and Cinema Complex).

There is an abundance of activites for the young, old and the young at heart!
