The town of Boggabri is 57 kilometres South East of Narrabri and is a 45 minute drive along the Kamilaroi Highway. It is 40 kilometres North West of Gunnedah.
Boggabri is a town predominantly supported by agriculture. It is a small village with a big community spirit and boasts a unique country lifestyle. It has facilities for many country activities as well as being right on the edge of the rich Gunnedah coal basin and is ready to provide support services to the mining community, as the mining industry grows.
Namoi Cotton Co-operative erected a state of the art cotton Gin at Boggabri in 1994. The town has a mixture of architecture from the beginning of the 19th Century to modern times. Boggabri has a historical Museum which really brings the district alive, displaying Aboriginal artefacts and local gemstones. The Museum is a great place to receive an introduction to Boggabri by gaining an understanding of times gone by, and it is open upon request. Boggabri is also the home of "Nelson's Honey" which is one of the largest suppliers in New South Wales to the Honey Corporation of Australia. "Gin's Leap" is also a must see, and is only 5kms North of Boggabri. It is a stunning sheer rock face that is the subject of many legends.
Boggabri has a Service Station, Caravan Park, Motel, Supermarket, Take Away Store, Post Office, RSL Club, Golf Club with nine hole Course (sand greens), Bowling Club, 2 Hotels, Hospital, Police Station, Ambulance, NRMA, Fire Brigade, Anglican, Presbyterian, Uniting and Catholic Churches.
