Wee Waa is located 42 Kilometres West of Narrabri along the Kamilaroi Highway. It is an easy 30 minute drive from Narrabri through attractive, fertile farming country. The Kamilaroi Highway to Wee Waa follows the banks of the picturesque Namoi River, the lifeline to the community's agricultural pursuits.
Wee Waa is one of the leading cotton growing areas in Australia. It is, in fact known as the Cotton Capital of Australia. Wee Waa is the headquarters of the largest cotton grower owned organisation in Australia and also to businesses which sell cotton seed to growers from all over the world. Wee Waa has a history of great distinction. It is the oldest town in the Namoi Valley and was home to many pioneering families as early as 1837. Wee Waa is serviced by the Countrylink Rail coach on Mondays and Fridays with localised and interstate coach, rail and air services offered through Narrabri daily.
The town has a hospital, Police Station, Ambulance, Fire Brigade, Chemist, Anglican, Presbyterian, and Catholic Churches, Mechanical Repairs, Post Office, Supermarket, Newsagent, Bakery, clothing shops, 2 Banks, Coffee Shop, Cafe, take away stores/general Stores. 2 motels, 2 caravan parks, 4 schools including a High School, preschool and 2 hotels, as well as fine eating places. Wee Waa is also home to a 33m swimming pool, picturesque 9 hole golf course, bowling club, tennis courts, modern sporting complex as well as many other modern facilities and beautiful historic architecture.
