Rates deadlines extended
A reminder to ratepayers in the Narrabri Shire that the due date of the first instalment of rates for 2020/2021 has been extended from 31 August to 30 September 2020. The intent of the extension is to provide relief to businesses and residents who may be suffering financially due to COVID-19.
Council have an existing hardship policy and we would like to remind any rate payers who are enduring hardship to contact Council to discuss possible payment options.
2020 Council Elections postponed
Due to COVID-19, the NSW Government has postponed the 2020 September local government elections for 12 months. Local government elections will now be undertaken in September 2021. The existing Narrabri Shire Councillors will continue to represent the community until the elections in 2021.

Narrabri Shire Council Administration Building
OPEN TO PUBLIC – from Monday 6 July 2020.
9.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday
Community members can attend Council to complete quick transactions in person such as delivering or collecting paperwork or to make a payment.
Appointments are required to be made for longer interactions with staff please call beforehand to arrange a suitable time. .
Appointments can be made by contacting Council where face to face, phone or zoom meetings with the relevant Council staff can be arranged.

Shire Swimming Pools
Narrabri Aquatic Centre – OPEN*

Book Return Procedure:
Narrabri and Wee Waa Libraries will be taking book returns via onsite chutes.
Boggabri Library book returns will only be accepted on Tuesday and Friday via return trolley which will be available at the library entrance.

Council is committed to ensuring community service provisions are maintained during this time. We ask residents to actively reduce the amount of waste, recycling and garden organics we produce, this will ensure all collections can be completed promptly by Cleanaway without issue.
Narrabri Region Visitor Information Centre
OPEN - From 1 June 2020. Conditions of entry apply.
Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm
Saturday and Sunday 9.00am to 2.00pm
The Crossing Theatre
OPEN - with the following restrictions:
• The Crossing Theatre Café: OPEN – Conditions of entry apply. 30 people allowed in at any one time, maximum of 10 people per booking with a maximum time of a sitting 1 hour.
• The Crossing Theatre Cinemas: CLOSED - for renovations reopening expected September 2020.
Pilliga Primitive Camp Ground and Bore Baths
OPEN – From Thursday 4 June 2020.
For camp site payment please contact Narrabri Region Visitor Information Centre on 1800 659 931 or 02 6799 6760.
Camping is $5 per night.
Due to current restrictions imposed by the NSW Government, no more than 10 people can be in the bore at any one time.
Pilliga Bore and camp ground are self-regulating facilities and it is the responsibility of individuals to follow government restrictions. Concerns regarding people not adhering to NSW Government restrictions should be directed to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Council is committed to ensuring community service provisions are maintained during this time specifically, water, waste, roads and customer service functions.
We are closely monitoring the ever-changing developments surrounding COVID-19 and we kindly ask the following:
• Please adhere to all government directions regarding physical distancing keeping 1.5m away from others.
• Practice good hygiene to protect against infection and prevent spread.
• Do not go to work or into the public if you are unwell.
• Self isolate for 14 days: This applies if you have been in close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, have been confirmed with COVID-19 or arrived in Australia after midnight on 15 March 2020.
