Narrabri Shire Council

Think Big!

Time to review our Community Strategic Plan

Every four years, Narrabri Shire Council must review its 10-year vision for the future of Narrabri Shire. This document is called the Community Strategic Plan. This plan sets out the framework for all Council's activities and programs during the four year Council term and should work towards achieving the long term vision of the community.

Over November and December this year we will be completing an intensive period of community engagement activities to find out what you want for Narrabri Shire. We are encouraging the community to THINK BIG about how they want Narrabri Shire to look in 2027! No idea is too big and remember your little idea could be the next "big thing" for Narrabri Shire!

How can I get involved?

Council staff will be engaging with the community in a number of ways. There will be Community Surveys, Community Workshops, postcards for young people to participate and social media conversations to name just a few options.Keep an eye out this page, Council's Your Council page in the local newspaper and on social media to see how you can get involved.

Community Survey

The Community Survey will be the main source of feedback for the Community Strategic Plan review. The survey is available at strategic locations around the Shire and will be available at all Community Workshops. You can also complete the survey online below:

Community Workshops

Community workshops will be held in December at Baan Baa, Bellata, Boggabri, Edgeroi, Gwabegar, Narrabri, Pilliga and Wee Waa.

Social Media

Council will be encouraging plenty of discussion on social media through special Conversation Hours. Times of these sessions will be advertised shortly. You can keep up to date by following Council's Facebook page

Conversation Hour - Social Issues and Opportunities - Tuesday 22 November from 7:30pm

Conversation Hour - Economic Issues and Opportunities - Thursday 24 November from 7:30pm

Youth Surveys and Feedback

The youth are the future of our Shire and we want to get feedback from them on what they would like to see in the future. Surveys will be dropped off at schools across Narrabri Shire and we are encouraging students to get involved by either drawing their vision or completing a short survey.
