Narrabri Shire Libraries

There are three Libraries within Narrabri Shire. They are located in Wee Waa, Narrabri and Boggabri.

Membership to any of the Council Libraries is free of charge.

Anyone who is over 18 years of age can join the library. If you are under 18 but would like to become a member, you will need your parent/s to sign the card on your behalf. Before signing the membership agreement you will be required to read the terms and conditions of membership and agree to abide by them.

Council Library staff have complied the Children's Online Learning Resources to provide children and parents with engaging and fun links to websites to enjoy together.

Public Internet Access & Printing

Public computers with internet access are available at all the Shires libraries. Residents are advised to book ahead to ensure that the machine is available.

Internet access is available free of charge at all the Shires libraries. There are 12 public internet machines at Narrabri, 6 at Wee Waa and 3 at Boggabri.

Printing, scanning, faxing and photocopying is available at a small charge.

Narrabri Shire Library catalogues are now available on-line!
Narrabri Shire Libraries are a part of the Central Northern Regional Library. Central Northern Regional Library have an on-line catalogue available for all libraries in the local area. This includes the libraries of Narrabri, Wee Waa and Boggabri.

Click on the Search and Reserve tab on the left hand side of the page, then to search for a particular book and specify the library holding the item, please choose click on the "Advanced" tab.

Narrabri Shire Libraries Home Delivery Service

Narrabri Shire Library in now offering a free Home Delivery Service of library materials.

This is a monthly delivery service based on the personal preference of the borrowers. The Home Library Service allows library members to borrow books, large print books, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs and magazines while remaining at home.

To be eligible for these services, you must reside in the Narrabri Shire, hold a library membership, and have completed an Application form and Reader profile questionnaire.

Dolly Parton Imagination Library

Narrabri Shire Libraries, together with NSW Health and United Way, are thrilled to announce the start of the early literacy program, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. All children born after 1 January 2022 and residing in the Narrabri Shire, will receive a FREE book each month until they are 5 years old. To register, simply complete the enrolment form below, check with your Child and Healthcare Nurse or at one of the three Narrabri Shire Libraries at Wee Waa, Boggabri and Narrabri. The program will be officially launched at the Narrabri Library on 14 February 2022.

Use of public sewing machine

Narrabri Shire Libraries now have available a sewing machine for public use. 

You can now book one-on-one sessions to use a sewing machine at your local library
Make a mask or make an environmentally friendly shopping bag for your vegetables.

To book a session, the user must adhere to the following Terms and Conditions:

  • Patrons will need to provide their project materials, e.g., material, pattern/instructions, thread, elastic, etc.
  • Sessions will be strictly half an hour one-on-one. Participants may book an additional session if it is available.
  • Bookings are essential.
  • Subject areas for tutorials are limited.
  • Details of the desired project must be confirmed before session booking to ensure the tutor has the appropriate skill set.
