Council resolves to donate $81,000 to community organisations

Council resolved at the June Ordinary Council Meeting that the individual amounts totalling $81,402.19 be donated to community organisations.

In accordance with the Donations in Lieu of Ordinary Rates Policy and Section 356 of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW), the following organisations were successful in their application.

  • Narrabri Clay Target Club Incorporated
  • Narrabri Rifle Club
  • Narrabri Pistol Club Incorporated
  • Pilliga Community Centre Incorporated
  • Wee Waa Community Complex
  • Wee Waa Gym
  • Narrabri Amateur Fishing Club
  • Life Without Barriers
  • Narrabri Shire Community Radio Incorporated
  • Narrabri & District Citizens Boys Club
  • Narrabri Art & Craft Society Incorporated
  • Kogil Street Preschool
  • Narrabri & District Community Aid Service
  • Narrabri Men’s Shed Incorporated
  • Galloping Gully Polocrosse Club Incorporated
  • Boggabri HACC Incorporated
  • Abbeyfield Australia Limited
  • Narrabri Local Aboriginal Land Council
  • Country Women’s Association of NSW (Wee Waa)

Section 356 of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW) states that Council may contribute money or otherwise grant financial assistance to organisations for the purpose of exercising its functions.

Council’s current Policy provides clear guidelines and transparent criteria by which Council will continue to make donations to the community.
