The Violet Street Bridge will be closed from Monday, 19 January to the end of September 2026 for bridge replacement works. A detour will be in place along Selina Street, Newell Highway and Tibbereena Street.
On 14 September 2024 Local Government Elections were held across NSW. Enrolled residents and ratepayers of Narrabri Shire Local Government Area voted for 9 Councillors to be appointed for the next Council term until September 2028.
The Mayor and Deputy Mayor are elected by their fellow Councillors.
Cr Tiemens was declared Mayor at the Extraordinary Council Meeting on 9 October 2024 for a two-year term.
Cr Dickinson was declared Deputy Mayor at the Extraordinary Council Meeting on 9 October 2024 for a one-year term.
Councillors are delegated to community committees at the commencement of their four-year term. These delegations may be updated on an annual basis.
