Alcohol Free Zones

Narrabri Shire Council and NSW Police enforce Alcohol Free Zones within Narrabri Shire. These Alcohol Free Zones are signposted and usually consist within CBD areas and other public areas such as parks, public toilet blocks and schools.

The enforcement of Alcohol Free Zones promote the use of footpaths and carparks in safety without interference from irresponsible street drinkers.

Community groups or businesses can approach Council to establish an Alcohol Free Zone or Council can decide to establish one itself. A consultation process must be carried out and the zone is established once a Council resolution has been passed. Alcohol Free Zones can also be established for special events brochures.
