Watermain Replacement Works

Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) in collaboration with Narrabri Shire Council, will be replacing a section of the Bellata water main as part of work on the grain siding next to Bellata railway station.

This work will include an interruption to the water supply for 1 day, which is scheduled for Monday 14 August from 8:30am to 5:30pm.

How could this work affect you?

Between the hours of 8:30am and 5:30pm the potable (drinking) water supply for the whole of Bellata township will be interrupted. Every project is assessed to minimise disruption and we are committed to reducing the impacts of our work on our neighbours wherever possible. Some of the mitigation strategies we will implement for this disruption include:

  • Provision of bottled water for impacted residents
  • Water tanker for emergency purposes

Before the Water Interruption

Before the interruption, we recommend having approximately four litres of water per person set aside for drinking. Also, fill a bucket with water to use for toilet flushing. Pour water from the bucket into your toilet bowl after use and only flush when necessary.

During the Interruption

During the outage, it’s important to leave your taps off as the supply may be restored before 5:30pm.

After the Interruption

After the outage, water may be slightly discoloured. Please run the tap until your water runs clear.
