Narrabri township will remain on Level 4 water restrictions, with a temporary sprinkler and splash pad exemption in place from Thursday, 29 January 2026.
The Violet Street Bridge will be closed from Monday, 19 January to the end of September 2026 for bridge replacement works. A detour will be in place along Selina Street, Newell Highway and Tibbereena Street.

Thank you to our community for your ongoing patience while we continue to address the illegal dumping of asbestos-contaminated waste at the Boggabri Transfer Station.
We are taking the following actions to reopen the site to the public:
At this stage, we are aiming to re-open the Transfer Station on Friday, 12 September - pending successful completion of clean-up works.
We will provide updates if there are any changes to this schedule.
