Thank you to our community for your ongoing patience while we continue to address the illegal dumping of asbestos-contaminated waste at the Boggabri Transfer Station.

We are working closely with NSW Environment Protection Authority to pursue those responsible for the illegal dumping and ensure clean-up notices are issued to the offenders.

Unfortunately, this means the Transfer Station cannot reopen until the matter is resolved.

While we had hoped to be able to open the facility this Friday, the Transfer Station must remain closed until the clean-up is completed.

We understand the frustrations of the Boggabri community due to this ongoing closure, however the safety of our staff and community is paramount.

We will continue to provide updates regarding the Transfer Station, including possible reopening of the facility, as they become available.

Please see a list of open transfer stations in our Shire and what can and can’t be disposed of at these stations.
