Christmas Pop-Up Shop Returns for its Fifth Year
Published on 03 December 2025
Narrabri Shire Council is proud to once again host the annual Christmas Pop-Up Shop, now celebrating its fifth year.
Featuring local artists and home-based businesses, the Pop-Up Shop gives creators the chance to meet their customers face-to-face and sell
their products in a prime location during the Narrabri CBD’s busiest time of year. Stallholders applied through an Expression of Interest in October, open to all businesses, makers and artisans across the Shire.
With no fee for stall holders, it’s an excellent opportunity to network and showcase their products.
Since its launch in 2021, the Pop-Up Shop has welcomed over 57 stallholders and generated more than $80,000 in sales. It also brings life and activity to vacant store spaces in the CBD.
The Christmas Pop-Up Shop, similar to an indoor market featuring a variety of stallholders, is organised each year by Narrabri Shire Council’s Economic Development Team as part of their Christmas Activation Plan.
“While we are working hard to encourage permanent tenancy and support new businesses in vacant commercial spaces, the Pop-Up Shop provides a
fantastic opportunity to activate and beautify these spaces during the busy holiday season,” said Gillian Goddard, Small Business Liaison Officer.
Through this Christmas activation plan, Council hopes to encourage more foot traffic across the CBD and invite people to explore surrounding businesses this Christmas. Narrabri Shire is home to a breadth of creative talent and amazing businesses, and Council thanks the community and stallholders for continuing to support this fantastic initiative. Each year, the Pop-Up Shop continues to grow, with the quality and range of gifts on offer increasing. It has become a much-loved annual tradition for many makers who dedicate countless hours into creating these unique products.
The Narrabri Christmas Pop-Up Shop will open its door again on Friday, 5 December 2025 from 10.00am at Shop 1/100 Maitland Street.
