The Violet Street Bridge will be closed from Monday, 19 January to the end of September 2026 for bridge replacement works. A detour will be in place along Selina Street, Newell Highway and Tibbereena Street.

A reminder that our transfer stations are for resident volumes of waste only. Our transfer stations do not accept commercial waste.
Please do not contaminate other stockpiles with general waste or throw rubbish directly onto the ground. Please dispose of household waste in the correct bin/area.
All commercial and business waste must be taken to the Narrabri Waste Management Facility or by arrangement with local waste disposal companies.

Violet Street replacement project
Works to replace the Violet Street Bridge over Narrabri Creek are continuing.
Demolition work on the current bridge is underway. The old bridge deck will start to be removed this coming Thursday/Friday (5/6 February).
A detour is in place along Selina Street, Newell Highway and Tibbereena Street for the duration of works (please see below):
Works are expected to be completed by the end of September (depending on weather and other factors).
