Parks and Open Spaces

Narrabri

• Sports field renovation at Dangar Park.

Wee Waa

• Mowing and watering of fields.
• Mowing treatment works and snipping.
• Mowing of Wee Waa Pool yard.
• Mowing and watering at Ludowici Park.
• Mowing and watering at Dangar Park.
• Funeral preparations.
• Mowing of cemetery
• Tree stump removals around town. 

Pilliga

• Cleaning of bore baths.
• Mowing around bore yard. 
• New coping installed around the edge of bore baths.
• Cleaning of toilets.

• Mowing and watering of Anzac Park.
• Mowing around water tower.
• Spraying around culverts.

Boggabri

• Trimming of trees and tidy up of the garden at Baan Baa Park.
• Spraying of weeds at Boggabri Caravan Park.
• Mowing of parks, pools, oval and cemetery.
• CBD maintenance (weeding, spraying and tree trimming)

Airport

• 6,750 litres of Jet A-1 sold during the past week.
• Mowing of airside around runway lights.
• Pruning of trees along Airport Entry Road.
• Quote requested for new tank liner for 100,000-gallon tank.
•  Minor reschedule with Fly Pelican Narrabri to Sydney flight - departed Wednesday morning instead of Tuesday afternoon.

Violet Street replacement project

Works to replace the Violet Street Bridge over Narrabri Creek are continuing. A detour is in place along Selina Street, Newell Highway and Tibbereena Street for the duration of works (please see below):

Works are expected to be completed by the end of September (depending on weather and other factors).

Waste

• Tidying up of transfer stations has continued to be a priority and focus for staff, with Boggabri, Baan Baa, Maules Creek, Edgeroi, Wee Waa and Bellata transfer stations all completed.
• The Narrabri Waste Management Facility mattress cages were loaded picked up on Friday, 27 February.
• All stockpiles at the facility were inspected for contamination and pushed up.
• E-waste was also collected, while cardboard was sorted and taken for recycling.
• Road works and firebreaks at the facility are continuing.

Water/Sewer

• Laidlaw Street water main renewal is continuing.
• Saleyards bore flow and quality testing – 72-hour flow test is complete.
• Water meter renewals in Narrabri and Wee Waa.
• CCTV and condition assessment of sewer in Narrabri.
• Sewer main extension in Boundary Street, Wee Waa.

Facilities and Logistics

• Completed fence repairs at St Joesphs and Wee Waa SES.
• Installed toilet roll holders at Boggabri Caravan Park.
• Completed gutter repairs to the Narrabri Waste Facility shed, including the storm water.
• Installed a hose reel to Boggabri Caravan Park camp kitchen for cleaning purposes and fixed water leak. 
• Installed new soap dispensers at the Administrative Building.
• Fixed air conditioning at the Visitor Information Centre.
• Annual Pest Control applications.
• Construction of the Wee Waa depot water shed is nearing completion.
• Replaced cistern at Wee Waa SES Building.
• Replaced water pump at Pilliga CWA Hall. 
• In process of investigating repair of Pilliga SES building air conditioner.
