Waste

  • Last week was very wet across the whole state and the ground is at saturation point. At Narrabri Landfill, Sediment Dams 1 and 2 are nearing capacity. We have been busy running pumps daily to reduce the volume.
  • BMR Quarries has ceased work on the concrete stockpile for the week, as the stockpile needs to dry out before it can be screened and crushed into road-base size.
  • Due to the wet weather, staff have been busy keeping the entire landfill accessible to the public, including carrying out roadworks.
  • Transfer stations at Boggabri, Maules Creek and Baan Baa have been tidied up. However, access in and around these stations is very wet. People are advised to exercise caution when entering these stations.

Roads

  • The Infrastructure Delivery teams have worked tirelessly preparing for the floods, monitoring and managing road closures and re-openings, relocating critical assets and providing essential support to the SES.
  • Our team continue to work to keep road closures up to date on our website, Live Traffic and Facebook page.
