Turrawan Road rehab

Works on Turrawan Road are currently underway.

Works will include the rehabilitation as well as heavy patching and resealing works from the Maules Creek Road intersection to just before the Old Narrabri Road intersection. The traffic island at the Maules Creek Road intersection will also be replaced.

As part of the works, the bridge on Turrawan Road will be closed on Wednesday, 14 October between 7.00am and 4.00pm to allow safe completion of compaction works along the bridge abutments.

We apologise for any inconvenience while these necessary works take place.

Rangari Road upgrade

Works will start from 12 October on the Bayley Park Creek Causeway as part of the 9.6km Rangari Road Upgrade, which includes the sealing of the road.

Works include the construction of a temporary single-lane side track, allowing traffic to continue using the road while causeway works are underway.

The side track will operate under temporary traffic signals, with a speed limit of 40km/h in place for the safety of workers and road users.

Motorists are reminded to follow all traffic control measures and take care when travelling through the works area.

The $9 million project has been made possible through the NSW Government’s Rural and Regional Roads Fund.

Level 3 Water Restrictions – watering times exemption reminder

A reminder that under current Level 3 Water Restrictions, Narrabri Township residents can still water their gardens from 4.00pm to 9.00am.

The watering times exemption recognises the needs of the community when it comes to outside watering.

We encourage our community to continue to use water wisely and follow these restrictions, particularly as we head into the warmer months.

Water restrictions should not impact the health and wellbeing of residents, including the use of measures needed to stay safe during warmer weather, such as evaporative cooling systems.

Full details regarding Level 3 Water Restrictions can be found on Council’s website Water Restrictions | NSC.
