Parks and Open Spaces

Narrabri Open Spaces team

• Vegetation control at Narrabri lawn cemetery.
• Street mowing.

Narrabri Sports Field team

• Mowing/snipping of sporting fields.
• Vandalism clean up (graffiti).
• Mowing of parks' open space areas - Narrabri Lake.
• Tree inspections.

Wee Waa

• Cleaning of public toilets and litter work daily.
• Vegetation control along Wee Waa streets.
• Daily cleaning of CBD.

Pilliga Bore

• Pilliga Bore Baths' toilets and grounds cleaning.
• Cleaning of bore baths' pool.
• Maintenance on facilities.

Pilliga Town

• Cleaning of toilets and emptying of bins twice a week.
• Vegetation control at Pilliga Park.

Gwabegar

• Emptying of bins and litter clean up at Anzac Park.
• Vegetation control along town streets and at parks.

Boggabri

• Public toilets cleaned daily.
• Town bins emptied twice weekly.
• Truck stops bins emptied twice weekly.
• Vegetation control along the town street.
• General maintenance of gardens and irrigation at recreational parks.

Airport

• Re-fuelling works.
• Airside mowing.

Waste

• Over 4,500 tonnes of cover material was delivered and completed over a three-day period, helping keep the active cell covered on a daily basis.
• Council’s Roads Department also delivered over 2,000 tonnes of cover material for daily cover.
• Road works are continuing around the site and improvements are ongoing.
• Transfer stations cleanups are continuing. It is a credit to all staff who keep these facilities presentable to all our residents.
• Council continues to remind all contractors and commercial businesses that these stations are for household volumes only. Contractors or commercial businesses can dispose their waste at Narrabri Waste Facility or contractors can be organised to deliver skip bins for their works by local contractors.
• Scrap Metal collection at the Narrabri Waste Management Facility is nearing completion. Sims Metals will be soon heading to all transfer stations to commence work on the stockpiles of scrap metal.
• Christmas time is a very busy time for the Waste team and we are working efficiently and safely as we can to accommodate all our Shire residents

Facilities and Logistics

• Safety repairs to Nurruby ramp handrail.
• Christmas decorations installed.
• Addressed truck wash electrical faults.
• Road repairs at Big Sky Caravan Park.
• Seven sublet tyres and repairs.
• Seven instances of reactive maintenance.
• 4wd services.
• Grader services.

Roads

• Flood Damage Heavy Patching is continuing on Pilliga Road.
• SR011 Harparary Road Upgrade is continuing.
• Installation of pram ramps is ongoing in Narrabri.
• Maintenance to MR357 Rangari Road - Bollol Creek floodway is continuing.

Water/Sewer

• Laidlaw Street Boggabri Water Main renewal is continuing.
• Bore investigation and water quality assessment of Logans Lane and Saleyards test bores.
• Bore pump test and water quality assessment of Saleyards test bore.
• Water reservoir cleaning operational project for Purcell Street.
• Signage installation at bulk water filling sites across the Shire.
• Sewer service line maintenance Narrabri
• Narrabri Sewer Pump station infiltration study implementation.
• Sewer CCTV condition reporting and sewer jetting maintenance in Narrabri.
