Parks and Open Spaces

Narrabri

  • Irrigation repairs at the Visitor Information Centre, Hogan Oval, Collins Park and Cooma Oval.
  • Cemetery mowing.
  • Sports field surface repair works.
  • Vandalism repairs to The Crossing Theatre area amenities building surrounds.
Wee Waa
  • Mowing and watering of fields.
  • Mowing of Wee Waa Pool yard and whipper snipping.
  • Mowing treatment works.
  • Weeding of CBD gardens.
  • Mowing and watering of parks.
  • Levee inspection and works on two flood gates.
  • Spraying of drains and lanes.
Pilliga
  • Cleaning of bore baths and toilets.
  • Emptying of bins.
Gwabegar
  • Watering of Anzac Park.

Boggabri

  • Cleaning of public toilets as well as maintenance.
  • Clean-up of tree over the road at Merton Street.
  • Baan Baa Park mowing, watering and maintenance.
  • General mowing of parks, ovals and pool.
Airport
  • 4,500 litres of Jet A-1 sold for the past week.
  • Assisted Fly Pelican charters around heavy fog.
  • Fly Pelican Sydney RPT flights on 10 February.
  • Repaired sprinklers on irrigation around the Terminal.
Roads
  • SR2 Berrigal Road rehabilitation.
  • Heavy patching on Millie Road, Bellata (below)

Violet Street replacement project

Works to replace the Violet Street Bridge over Narrabri Creek are continuing. A detour is in place along Selina Street, Newell Highway and Tibbereena Street for the duration of works (please see below):

Works are expected to be completed by the end of September (depending on weather and other factors).

Waste

  • Commercial waste was dumped at transfer stations, while Wee Waa and Boggabri transfer stations were also impacted by rubbish being dumped in the wrong areas. This followed Boggabri and Wee Waa transfer stations being cleaned up to a great standard by waste staff.
  • The Narrabri Waste Facility is looking great due to ongoing litter control, stockpile inspections daily for contamination and completion of road works.
  • Works for the new cell construction are due to commence works from the week commencing 23 February.

Water/Sewer

  • Laidlaw Street water main renewal is continuing.
  • Saleyards bore flow and quality testing – 72-hour flow test.
  • Assessment of EOI for potential suppliers for Temporary Water Treatment Plant.
  • Namoi Reservoir pump transmitter replacement.
  • CCTV and condition assessment of sewer in Narrabri.
  • Sewer connection rebuilds in Narrabri.
  • Infiltration study program launch for Narrabri sewer pump stations.

Facilities and Logistics

  • Final stages of Committee Room refurbishment.
  • Repairing leaks at the saleyards.
  • Repairs underway to the Narrabri Waste Facility shed, including storm water.
  • Water stores shed works underway.
  • Quotes for air conditioners for Country University Centre and Visitor Information Centre.
  • Signage completed at the front of The Crossing Theatre.
  • Removal of solid waste stockpile from the truck wash compound yard.
