Parks and Open Spaces

Narrabri

  • Lawn cemetery works including tree works, grave levelling and irrigation. Funerals were also held.
  • Mowing of west areas
  • Spraying including around signs, posts and drains
  • Old cemetery works - spraying, removal of branches
  • Installation of banners along Maitland Street
  • Mowing of town areas
  • Garden works along Tibbereena Street
  • Reinstalling of park furniture after flood event
  • Cleaning of shared pathway
  • Removing flood debris from oval fences
  • Mowing of areas unaffected by flood water

Wee Waa

  • Cleaning of toilets
  • Emptying of bins
  • Tree trimming
  • Flood preparations

Boggabri

  • Anzac and Vickery Park toilets cleaned daily
  • Town bin collection twice a week
  • Truck stops rubbish collection twice a week
  • Funeral interment
  • General mowing of parks, oval surrounds, courthouse, caravan park, lawn cemetery, etc.
  • Weeding of gardens along the main street
  • Mowing along Wee Waa Street

Waste

  • Preparations are underway for a DA for the cell expansion at the Narrabri Landfill Facility. This cell expansion is essential to ensure adequate capacity for future waste.
  • Bellata Transfer Station has been cleaned and tidied.
  • Roadworks and cell work are continuing at Narrabri Landfill - due to the area being very damp from recent rainfall.
  • BMQ Quarries are back onsite and have commenced crushing and screening of concrete.

Roads

  • The Roads team has continued to address the recent flooding event, including inspections as well as extra closures in the west, and reopening roads (where possible) as the flood water recedes.
  • Crews have been completing repairs and removing debris.
  • Harparary Road construction has recommenced, along with maintenance grading works.
  • The roads maintenance schedule for this week is available on Council's website.

Water services

  • Water main renewal has commenced along Mitchell Street, Wee Waa (from Maitland Street to Cormie Avenue).
  • Water main renewal is continuing along Deran Lane, Narrabri.
  • Grantham Street water main has been completed and commissioned.
  • Construction is continuing on a bulk water filling station in Wee Waa.
  • CCTV inspection reporting for relined sewer infrastructure.
  • Installation of “Gatic” (watertight) access chambers lids along Narrabri Creek.
  • Hydrology investigation and bore testing is continuing in Narrabri.
