Parks and Open Spaces

Narrabri

  • Mowing of all sporting fields.
  • Slashing along shared pathway on Selina Street side of the creek.
  • Repairs along edges of Cooma Oval wickets.
  • Fertilising of ovals.

  • Marking out of ovals for cricket.
  • Graffiti removal.

West teams

  • Mowing and snipping at lawn cemetery.
  • Cemetery works including plinths and plaques, turf preparation.
  • Mowing, slashing and snipping of open space areas, plus water services.

Town teams

  • Mowing, snipping and hedging.
  • Mowing and snipping at Eulah Creek Cemetery.
  • Garden works along the main street.

Wee Waa

  • Mowing of all parks.
  • Cleaning of CBD.
  • Cleaning of toilets daily.

Pilliga

  • Cleaning of toilets twice per week.
  • Emptying of bins weekly.

Pilliga Bore

  • Cleaning bore baths once a week.
  • Emptying bins twice a week.
  • Cleaning of toilets twice a week.
  • Mowing of bore yard.

Gwabegar

  • Emptying of bins.
  • Playground inspections.

Boggabri

  • Cleaning of toilets daily.
  • Town bins and truck stop bins emptied twice weekly.
  • Mowing at Baan Baa township.
  • Mowing of open spaces.
  • Watering at Baan Baa park and at the caravan park.
  • Amenities maintenance.
  • Cemetery maintenance. 

Narrabri Airport

  • Replacement mower delivered to use while battery powered mower is away being diagnosed for issues.
  • 8,500 litres of Jet A-1 sold since Monday, 6 October.
  • Released four kangaroos and wallabies from Airside.
  • Blackhawk chopper (owned by Orange Helicopters) visited on 13 October for fuel enroute to Queensland to have a ‘belly tank’ installed in preparation for fire season. The chopper will be based in Narrabri in the coming weeks.
  • Discussions were held again with Aero Refuellers in relation to their proposed installation of Jet A-1 fuel tank.

Roads

  • The Harparary Road upgrade is continuing, with Stage 2 being finalised and commencement of Stage 3.
  • Tullamullen Bridge approach work is continuing, following inundation and wet weather. Demolition of the old structure also underway.
  • Gravel production has started with dozer work at Greenhills Quarry and blast at Tiki Quarry.
  • Violet Street Bridge tender closed on Tuesday, 14 October, with assessment commencing.
  • Flood Damage Heavy Patching Program is continuing with crews on SR29 Yarrie Lake Road.

Gravel Resheeting Program

The Gravel Resheeting Program is ongoing with works on:

  • Cains Crossing Road
  • Stumpy Lane

Maintenance grading

Maintenance grading has taken place on:

  • Black Mountain Creek Road
  • HD Creek Road
  • Gwabegar Road
  • Couradda Road
  • Farr Park Road
  • Hulls Road
  • Delwood Road
  • Blairmoor Road

Water/Sewer

  • Mitchell Street, Wee Waa water main renewal is continuing.
  • Bore investigation project at Logans Lane and Saleyards test bores.
  • Bore pump test and water quality assessment at Saleyards test bores
  • Bulk Water Filling Station installation Wee Waa has been completed and is being commissioned.
  • Pump replacement and augmentation of wiring infrastructure at Namoi Reservoir.
  • Elizabeth Street bore pump augmentation started Tuesday, 21 October.
  • Chlorination servicing of all bore sites and Namoi Reservoir.
  • Narrabri Sewer pump station infiltration study implementation.
  • Sewer main access cover replacement along Narrabri Creek, Narrabri.
  • Sewer service line repairs - Narrabri.

Waste

  • Property Acquisition for future Narrabri Landfill site and Development Application submitted.
  •  The Development Application for Expansion Cells 2 and 3 project was submitted in September 2025 and is undergoing independent review.
  • Upgrades to waste weigh-in software is in progress.
  • GPS-guided software is being investigated for the compactor. This will ensure consistent compaction rates and maximum use of 'void space'.
