Roads
Violet Street Bridge
Great progress continues on the new Violet Street Bridge, with a concrete pour completed last week on the bridge deck.
It follows from the start of earthworks for the road approach from Tibbereena Street, installation of new stormwater pipe and pits, as well as the new water main.
Subject to any unforeseen delays, the Violet Street Bridge remains on track for practical completion in November.
More information about the Violet Street Bridge replacement, including FAQs, can be found on the project’s website.
Turrawan Road rehab
Works on Turrawan Road are currently underway.
Works will include the rehabilitation as well as heavy patching and resealing works from the Maules Creek Road intersection to just before the Old Narrabri Road intersection. The traffic island at the Maules Creek Road intersection will also be replaced.
We apologise for any inconvenience while these necessary works take place.
Rangari Road upgrade
Work has commenced on the Bayley Park Creek Causeway as part of the 9.6km Rangari Road Upgrade, which includes the sealing of the road.
Works include the construction of a temporary single-lane side track, allowing traffic to continue using the road while causeway works are underway.
The side track will operate under temporary traffic signals, with a speed limit of 40km/h in place for the safety of workers and road users.
Motorists are reminded to follow all traffic control measures and take care when travelling through the works area.
The $9 million project has been made possible through the NSW Government’s Rural and Regional Roads Fund.
