Parks and Open Spaces

Narrabri

Airport
  • 3,970 litres of Jet A-1 sold during the past week.
  • Apron reseal works will take place from 11 March.
  • Fixed irrigation sprays around the Terminal.
  • Military training on Monday, 17 February. Spartan C-27J did one touch 'n' go at around 2.35pm.
Roads
  • SR2 Berrigal Road rehabilitation have been completed.
  • Gravel resheeting on SR13 Upper Maules Creek Road has been completed.

Violet Street replacement project

Works to replace the Violet Street Bridge over Narrabri Creek are continuing. A detour is in place along Selina Street, Newell Highway and Tibbereena Street for the duration of works (please see below):

Works are expected to be completed by the end of September (depending on weather and other factors).

Waste

  • Staff have been busy with roadworks around the Narrabri Waste Facility in preparation for required access for the new cell construction, which began on Monday, 23 February.
  • Fire breaks are continuing around the facility and all transfer stations.

Water/Sewer

  • Laidlaw Street water main renewal is continuing.
  • Saleyards bore flow and quality testing – 72-hour flow test is complete.
  • Assessment of EOI for potential suppliers for Temporary Water Treatment Plant.
  • Water meter renewals in Narrabri and Wee Waa.
  • CCTV and condition assessment of sewer in Narrabri.
  • Sewer connection rebuilds in Narrabri.
  • Infiltration study program launch for Narrabri sewer pump station.
  • Sewer main extension in Boundary Street, Wee Waa.

Facilities and Logistics

  • Committee Room refurbishment completed.
  • Repaired leaks at the saleyards.
  • Completion of gutter repairs to the Narrabri Waste Facility shed including storm water.
  • First coat of paint has been applied to the Toy Library office.
  • Construction of the water stores shed at Wee Waa is underway.
  • Quotes sought for air-conditioners for the Country University Centre and Toy Library. Works for the Country University Centre will be carried out from 25 February.
  • Repairs completed at the Visitors Information Centre.
  • Annual pest control applications at Boggabri Caravan Park and Boggabri Depot.
