Parks and Open Spaces

Narrabri

  • Mowing of Cooma, Hogan and Leitch ovals, Dangar Park and Collins Park.
  • Mowing of eastern side of Narrabri Lake.
  • Together with Council's Building and Maintenance team, assisted in the re-building of the fence at the Narrabri Caravan Park, which was damaged in the recent flood.
  • Mowing and snipping oval surrounds.
  • Mowing of area for Nosh on the Namoi.
  • Marking of out fields for the junior rugby carnival.

West team areas

  • Mowing of areas in the west.
  • Funeral preparations at lawn cemetery.
  • Cleaning up of old cemetery, as well as mowing and tree works.
  • Mowing of town areas, open space.
  • Cleaning up of Bellata town area.

Wee Waa

  • Floods clean up.
  • Preparing playing fields for Junior League and Senior Soccer.
  • Mowing of the cemetery.
  • Mowing of streets surrounds.
  • Cleaning of toilets and emptying bins.

Pilliga and Gwabegar

  • Cleaning of Pilliga Bore and mowing bore grounds.
  • Mowing of park and streets surrounds.
  • Emptying of bins.
  • Checking of Anzac Park.

Boggabri

  • Main street footpath sprayed for weeds.
  • Maintenance of lawn cemetery graves and general cemetery works, including spraying of weeds.
  • Mowed and whipper snipped Baan Baa Park.
  • Mowing of Jubilee Oval training field.
  • Toilets cleaned daily.
  • Bin collection twice a week, along with truck stops rubbish collection twice a week.

Waste

  • Sediment Dam number 1 was emptied via sprinkler and evaporation due to forecasted rainfall.
  • BMR Quarries are back onsite and are progressing through the concrete stockpile, including crushing and screening to produce road base. All these stockpiles are separated and will be tested on completion for any contamination.

  • Landfill staff have been busy cleaning Transfer Stations at Boggabri, Baan Baa and Edgeroi. Wee Waa and Pilliga Transfer Stations will also be cleaned (weather permitting).

Roads

  • Ongoing flood recovery
  • SR11 Harparary Road construction
  • Gravel re-sheeting of SR47 Middle Route Road

Water/Sewer

Water Supply

  • Mitchell Street Wee Waa water main renewal is continuing.
  • Bore investigation project into Logans Lane and Saleyards test bores.
  • Bulk Water Filling Station installation is continuing in Wee Waa
  • Completion of 500m of Deran Lane water main renewal

Sewer

  • Sewer main access cover replacement along Narrabri Creek, Narrabri.
  • Completion of 1.2km of sewer main relining in Narrabri.

PFAS update

The latest testing results of the Namoi Reservoir have shown PFAS levels as undetectable. This means that the Narrabri Town Water Supply continues to be safe for consumption.
