Violet Street Bridge

The new Violet Street Bridge is taking shape, with the concrete pour of the bridge deck completed.

  • Earthworks are continuing on the bridge approach from Tibbereena Street.
  • Stormwater pipes and pits have been completed for both approaches.
  • Installation of the upgraded 300mm water main is underway, with works completed between the bridge and Tibbereena Street.
  • Installation of the water main is continuing on the Selina Street side of the bridge.

Next stage of works:

  • Completion of installation of the upgraded water main.
  • Construction of kerb and pathways on the bridge.
  • Construction of both road approaches, including kerb and gutter, and shared pathways linking to the existing network.
  • Installation of the bridge barriers.
  • New overhead streetlighting.

The storm season and inclement weather are starting to impact the construction schedule.

Subject to the weather being favourable for works, the bridge should be open to traffic mid to late November.

More information about the Violet Street Bridge replacement, including FAQs, can be found on the project’s website.

Turrawan Road rehab

Works on Turrawan Road are continuing.

Works will include the rehabilitation as well as heavy patching and resealing works from the Maules Creek Road intersection to just before the Old Narrabri Road intersection. The traffic island at the Maules Creek Road intersection will also be replaced.

We apologise for any inconvenience while these necessary works take place.

Rangari Road upgrade

Work has commenced on the Bayley Park Creek Causeway as part of the 9.6km Rangari Road Upgrade, which includes the sealing of the road.

Works include the construction of a temporary single-lane side track, allowing traffic to continue using the road while causeway works are underway.

The side track will operate under temporary traffic signals, with a speed limit of 40km/h in place for the safety of workers and road users.

Motorists are reminded to follow all traffic control measures and take care when travelling through the works area.

The $9 million project has been made possible through the NSW Government’s Rural and Regional Roads Fund.
