Parks and Open Spaces

Narrabri

  • Removing of goal posts at Cooma Oval, Collins Park and Hogan Oval.
  • Mowing of ovals.
  • Marking out of soccer fields for grand finals.
  • Delivered bins for rugby street party.
  • Mowing of oval surrounds (Collins Park, Hogan Oval and Leitch Oval).
  • Mowed along path area behind ovals, Information Centre and Crossing Theatre.

West teams area

  • Mowing and snipping of lawn cemetery.
  • Slashing and mowing of open space areas.
  • Mowing of parks and open space areas.
  • Topping and levelling out of grave areas.

Town team areas

  • Gardening and fertilising of plants along Main Street.
  • Mowing and snipping of Eulah Creek Cemetery.
  • Garden works along Tibbereena Street.
  • Mowing, snipping and spraying of Bellata Township.
  • Mowing of old cemetery.

Wee Waa

  • Cleaning of toilets and CBD daily.
  • Emptying of town and parks bins once a week.
  • Mowing of levee bank.
  • Mowing of all parks.
  • Mowing and snipping of Wee Waa Pool yard.
  • Mowing treatment works.
  • Watering and weeding of gardens.
  • Mowing of open spaces and hazard reduction slashing.
  • Spraying of sporting fields

Pilliga

  • Cleaning of bore baths, as well as bore toilets.
  • Mowing of bore yard.
  • Emptying of bins.
  • Cleaning of town toilets.
  • Emptying of town bins. 

Gwabegar

  • Emptying of bins.
  • Mowing and snipping of Anzac Park
  • Mowing around water tower.
  • Mowing of cemetery as well as open spaces, streets.

Boggabri

  • Toilets cleaned daily.
  • Town bins emptied twice weekly as well as truck stop bins collected twice weekly.
  • Mowed and snipped Jubilee Oval complex.
  • Watering of parks, ovals and cemetery.
  • General mowing of parks, cemetery, caravan park, open spaces and other town assets.
  • General maintenance of recreational parks.

Narrabri Airport

  • 4,600 litres of Jet A-1 fuel sales for the week.
  • Fokker 70 arrived with rugby players for Santos Festival of Rugby on Friday and Saturday. It departed with players during Sunday on four occasions. Santos CEO Kevin Gallagher flew in Friday, departed Saturday morning.
  • Vegetation control is continuing at Airport and Saleyards.
  • Fly Pelican had one passenger from Sydney, then five passengers to Sydney on Tuesday.

Waste

Bellata Transfer Station and Wee Waa Transfer Station both saw contamination in their stockpiles.

At Bellata, the steel stockpile was full of general waste that had to be separated out with two truckloads brought back to Narrabri Landfill.

Wee Waa Transfer Station experienced the same issue, particularly with commercial businesses using the timber stockpiles. Seven truckloads of timber was transported from Wee Waa Transfer Station to Narrabri Landfill.

Roads

  • SR11 Harparary Road upgrade is continuing.
  • Grading is taking place on a number of roads including Harparary Road, Gwabegar Road, Old Narrabri Road, Middle Route Road and Wave Hill Road.
  • Hand patching in Narrabri, Boggabri, Therribri Road and Kaputar Road.

  • Mitchell Street, Wee Waa water main renewal is continuing.
  • Bore investigation project - Logans Lane and Saleyards test bores.
  • Bulk Water Filling Station installation in Wee Waa.
  • Pump replacement and augmentation of wiring infrastructure Namoi Reservoir.
  • Sewer main access cover replacement along Narrabri Creek Narrabri.
  • Narrabri Sewer Pump station infiltration study implementation
