Parks and Open Spaces

Narrabri

  • Preparation work for the Santos Festival of Rugby
  • Flood preparation, including removing of park furniture.
  • Clearing of area for testing of Logan Lane bore.
  • Mowing/snipping of oval surrounds and sporting fields.
  • Sowing of rye grass on Dangar Park.
  • Mow and garden work at Pirate Park.

West team areas

  • Maintenance and repair of parks' assets.
  • Spray and snipping at old cemetery
  • Mow areas in town
  • Snipping at lawn cemetery
  • Spraying of all bridge approaches
  • Assisting in moving of seats from flood water
  • Mowing of Bellata town area and spray drains and fences
  • Mowing of areas in west and village

Wee Waa

  • Cleaning of public toilets
  • Mowing of Ludowici and Dangar parks
  • Mowing of Wee Waa Pool yard
  • Mowing treatment works
  • Daily cleaning of the main street
  • Emptying bins
  • Whipper snipping of all parks

Pilliga

  • Cleaning of toilets at the Pilliga Bore and in town.
  • Emptying of bins at Pilliga Bore and in town.

Gwabegar

  • Emptying of bins at the park and around town.
  • Cleaning of Anzac Park.

Boggabri

  • Public toilets cleaning
  • Bin collection
  • Truck stop rubbish collection
  • Spraying of parks, ovals and lawn cemetery for board leaf weeds
  • New flushing system fitted to Anzac Park toilets
  • Playground inspections at Boggabri and Baan Baa parks
  • General maintenance

Waste

  • The crushing of concrete stockpiles at the Narrabri Landfill has been completed, with stockpiles awaiting testing for possible contamination.
  • Following wet weather, staff have been busy with roadworks as well as mowing of Narrabri Landfill.
  • Wee Waa and Pilliga transfer stations have been tidied.

Roads

  • Roads crews continued to address the current flood situation.
  • Numerous road inspections, closures and cleanup are continuing.
  • Completion of 24-hour traffic control works, in conjunction with Transport for NSW on the Kamilaroi Hwy at Glencoe Channel due to flooding.
  • SR47 Middle Route gravel resheeting (4km)
  • SR111 Appletrees Lane gravel resheeting commenced (2km)
  • Grading works along SR60 Westport Road, SR232 Cotton Lane and SR131 Haystack Road.
  • Flood response and cleanup is underway.

Water/Sewer

  • Mitchell Street, Wee Waa water main renewal is continuing.
  • Bore investigation project at Logans Lane and Saleyards test bores.
  • Installation of Bulk Water Filling Station at Wee Waa.
  • Rewiring and pump repair at Namoi Reservoir.
  • Sewer main access cover replacement along Narrabri Creek, Narrabri.
