Latest PFAS Test Results - 22 January 2026

Narrabri Shire Council continues to conduct PFAS testing on the Narrabri Town Water Supply.

The latest testing results of the Namoi Reservoir have shown PFAS levels as below current guidelines.

This means that the Narrabri Town Water Supply continues to be safe for consumption.

PFHxS

4 ng/L (below guideline of 30 ng/L)

PFOS

7 ng/L (below guideline of 8 ng/L)

PFOA & PFBS

Not detected

 

The Tibbereena Street bore continues to supplement water supplied from the Elizabeth Street bore (the latest testing of the Elizabeth Street bore showed no detection of PFAS). The Killarney bore remains switched off after testing in early July showed Namoi Reservoir levels slightly above current guidelines.

NSW Health continues to recommend private bore owners consider testing their groundwater.
