The Namoi Women’s Shed ethos is to provide a welcoming, permanent home in Narrabri where women from town and surrounding rural communities can come together to connect, learn, and feel supported. We aim to be a friendly “third space” beyond home and work—one that nurtures belonging, wellbeing, and confidence. Through shared skills, cultural exchange, and genuine connection, the Shed will empower women of all backgrounds to support one another, grow personally, and thrive as individuals and as a community.
Offer a friendly, safe place where women can drop in, relax, and connect with others
Bring women together to share skills, have a go at something new, and learn from each other
Help reduce isolation by creating a strong sense of belonging and community
Provide a welcoming space outside of home and work to unwind, chat, and feel supported
Run casual workshops and activities led by members and local women with skills to share
Welcome women of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures, including those new to the community
Make it easy for women to join in when they can, even if time or travel is a challenge
Build confidence through encouragement, shared experiences, and peer support
Support wellbeing by giving women a place to feel valued, connected, and involved
Pop in for a cuppa and a yarn, jump into a project, or bring your own along.
