The Tibbereena Street bore continues to supplement water supplied from the Elizabeth Street bore (the latest testing of these bores showed no detection of PFAS).
The Killarney bore remains switched off after testing in early July showed Namoi Reservoir levels slightly above current guidelines.
The latest testing results can be found on Council’s website.
NSW Health continues to recommend private bore owners consider testing their groundwater.
As part of a NSW Government bore water screening program, Narrabri residents are being offered PFAS sampling of privately-owned bores, at no cost to the owner.
Testing will take place from Monday, 24 November to Wednesday, 26 November 2025. Participants will receive the results for their bore.
The program is open to anyone in the Narrabri township with either a registered or un-registered bore who wants to participate in the screening program.
Narrabri residents who would like to be part of the bore screening program must complete the registration form, which is available from Council’s website.
Registrations will be accepted until 12 noon Friday, 21 November 2025.
