Narrabri township is on Level 3 water restrictions with exemptions made on Friday,1 May 2026
The Violet Street Bridge will be closed from Monday, 19 January to the end of September 2026 for bridge replacement works. A detour will be in place along Selina Street, Newell Highway and Tibbereena Street.

A watering times exemption will be introduced from today (Friday, 1 May 2026) until 31 August 2026, enabling Narrabri Township residents to water their gardens from 4.00pm to 9.00am (instead of 7.00pm to 7.00am).
