Parks and Open Spaces

Narrabri (Open Spaces)

  • Vegetation control at the Lawn Cemetery and old Narrabri cemetery.
  • Landscaping works at the Lawn Cemetery's surrounding Interment wall.
  • Open spaces slashing at Selina Street – Old Gunnedah Road saleyards bore site.
  • Hedging works and garden works in Maitland Street.
  • Landscape planting at the amenities building at The Crossing Theatre - replacement of plants and trees and mulch garden.
  • Garden works along Tibbereena Street.

Sports Fields team

  • Irrigation repairs at Dangar Park.
  • Mowing/snipping of all sporting fields.
  • Weed control at ovals 1, 2 and 3.
  • Removed remaining waste material left from the Festival of Rugby event.
  • Trimmed hedges at the tennis courts.
  • Cleaned up graffiti at the Town Clock toilets.
  • Minor repairs to public amenities.
  • Mowing of parks open space areas - The Crossing Theatre area.
  • Tree inspections.

Wee Waa

  • Cleaning of public toilets and litter daily.
  • Vegetation control at Wee Waa Cemetery.
  • Vegetation control at parks: Wee Waa - Ludowici Park and Dangar Park and Rotary Park.
  • Daily cleaning of Wee Waa CBD.
  • Watering of CBD gardens.

Pilliga

  • Cleaning of toilets twice per week.
  • Emptying of bins twice per week.
  • Vegetation control at Pilliga Park.

Pilliga Bore baths

  • Cleaning of bore baths' toilets and grounds.
  • Cleaning of bore baths' pool.

Gwabegar

  • Emptying of bins and litter work at Anzac Park.
  • Vegetation control at Anzac Park.
  • Vegetation control at Pilliga Cemetery.

Boggabri

  • Cleaning of public toilets daily.
  • Town bins and truck stop bins emptied twice weekly.
  • Vegetation control and irrigation work at Boggabri Caravan Park.
  • Open space mowing of streets in Southern area.
  • Fertiliser works at Jubilee Oval.
  • General maintenance of gardens and irrigation at recreational parks.

Roads

  • Gravel resheeting works are continuing on Couradda Road.
  • Stage 3 of Harparary Road upgrade is ongoing.
  • Tullamullen Bridge approach work is continuing - following inundation and wet weather. Demolition of the old structure has been completed.
  • Flood Damage Heavy Patching Program is ongoing with crews working on Old Pilliga Road and Pilliga Road.
  • Gravel production has started with dozer work at Greenhills Quarry.
  • Maintenance grading on SR33 Forest Way, SR214 Farr Park Road, SR215 Hulls Road, MR329 Cypress Way and SR38 Kiandool Lane.
  • Violet Street Bridge tender has been assessed with the report going to this week’s Extraordinary November Council meeting.
  • Greenhills Quarry extension approvals process is continuing.

Water/Sewer

  • Registrations for the private bore water screening program close at noon, Friday, 21 November.
  • Laidlaw Street Boggabri Water Main Renewal has commenced.
  • Bore investigation and water quality assessment at Logans Lane and Saleyards test bores.
  • Bore pump test and water quality assessment at Saleyards test bores
  • Pump replacement and augmentation of wiring infrastructure at Namoi Reservoir.
  • Chlorination servicing of all bore sites and Namoi Reservoir.
  • Water reservoir cleaning operational project for Mooloolabar and Purcell streets.
  • Sewer main access cover replacement along Narrabri Creek - Narrabri.
  • Narrabri Sewer Pump station infiltration study implementation.
  • Sewer condition assessment and mains cleaning in West Narrabri.
  • The tender for sewer main relining will be going to market shortly.

Waste

  • Narrabri Waste Facility Expansion Development Application Public Notice is being advertised (see Council's website). The tender for the project is currently being advertised
  • The Mandalay Software (waste weigh-in software) upgrade is in progress.
  • GPS guided software has been purchased for the compactor and bulldozer, improving compaction rate consistency.
  • Sorting and transporting of scrap steel offsite.
  • Door on bulldozer was repaired.

Narrabri Airport

  •  5,895 litres of Jet A-1 were sold during the past week.
  •  Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was placed due to ‘increased birdlife (ibis)’ in the vicinity of runways on Thursday.
  •  Vegetation control in the Terminal area.
  •  Air Show at Cowra saw some visitors getting fuel.
